    The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience.

    Job Overview:

    Cleans all patient and non-patient areas of the hospital, and other areas as directed.

    Qualifications:

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    + Must know how to use common housecleaning implements such as mops, floor waxes, and scouring pads to keep areas clean and well serviced.

    + Ability to follow oral or written instructions.

    + Work with constant concern for the safety of all people (Patient, Visitor Etc.)

    + Interacts in a positive manner with coworkers in all departments to accomplish the goals and objectives of the hospital for effective patient care.

    + Must be able to read, write and speak English.

    + Perform other duties as may be assigned.

    Physical Requirements:

    Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

     

    Including bending, stooping and stretching.

    Scheduling Requirements:

    + Rotating Weekends and Holidays required

    + Shift working: Evening 2:30pm -11:00pm

    Essential Functions:

    + Dust, damp mop, spot clean and disinfect fixtures, furnishings in both patient and non-patient areas

    + Vacuum and spot-clean mats and carpets, as assigned

    + Empty, clean and re-line waste baskets. Transport regular and contaminated waste/linen to the utility room or proper areas.

    + Wash and disinfect bed/crib at discharge and prepare beds for new occupants.

    + Follow isolation cleaning procedures when cleaning isolation rooms to prevent the spread of pathogens.

    + Clean and disinfect daily bathroom fixtures, mirrors, windows, doors, walls (as far as can be reached) and replenish bathroom supplies if necessary.

    + Notifies supervisor when supplies in the Environmental Services storage room are low. Report work orders when repairs are needed in assigned areas

    + Maintains tools and equipment in good condition, is responsible for economical use of supplies

    + Mechanical aptitude for operating machines and equipment may include hard floor surface maintenance, e.g. stripping, refinishing, burnishing and shampooing carpets.

    + Delivers clean linen throughout the facility

    + Enhances professional growth and development by attending in-service, required meetings and other educational programs
