Summary About the position: This position is Non-appropriated Fund (NAF) and will be assigned to the NAF Accounting Office on Robins AFB. Regular Full Time Employees are guaranteed 35 hours per week but may work up to 40 hours per week. This position does offer benefits. Responsibilities Position duties include applying knowledge and skill to most of the following: IT concepts, principles, methods and practices; the mission and programs of customer organizations; the organization's IT infrastructure; performance management/measurement methods, tools, and techniques, systems testing and evaluation principles, methods and tools; IT security principles and method requirement analysis principles and methods; Commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) products and components: Internet technologies to analyze the Internet potential of systems, networks, and data; new and emerging information technologies and/or industry trends; acquisition management policies and procedures; cost-benefit analysis principles and methods; analytical methods and practices; project management principles and methods; and oral and written communication techniques sufficient to accomplish assignments such as: plan and carry out difficult and complex assignments and develop new methods, approaches, and procedures, provide advice and guidance on a wide range and variety of IT issues. Interpret IT policies, standards and guidelines; conduct analyses and recommend resolution of IT issues affecting the specialty area; evaluate and recommend adoption of new and enhances approaches to delivering IT services; test and optimize the functionality of systems, networks, and data, identify and define business or technical requirements applied to the design, development, implementation, management, and support of systems and networks; ensure optimal use of commercially available products; evaluate proposals for the acquisition of IT products or services; prepare and present reports, represent the organization in interactions with other organizations; and provides technical leadership on group projects. Must be able to troubleshoot, research, repair and recommend for service a diversified range of computers, computer hardware & software, as well as a multitude of operating systems and software applications. Will be responsible for training end users of systems and applications necessary to facilitate job performance when necessary. Position requires working with internal customers as well as outside unit and commercial entities on a constant basis. Position requires the operation of a government vehicle at times and is subject to travel to and from activities that require technical support. Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifying Experience: Must understand and apply skills and experience relating to: Operating Systems; software principles and methods; and functionality and operability of the current operating environment, sufficient to ensure high reliability and optimal availability of applications; develop solutions to operational problems; and evaluate the feasibility of implementing new technologies with current environments. Knowledge of, and skill in applying Network Services; network systems design, development, testing, installation, operations, management, and maintenance concepts and methods; and the organizations network architecture, topology, and protocols sufficient to provide network services that support business requirements; and plan, design, develop, and integrate network systems consistent with existing or planned network infrastructures Education Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution. Additional Information Individual must fully meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
