Job Title: Manager, Food Service
Department: Nutrition Services
Hours Per Week: 40 scheduled weekly hours
Schedule: 8-hour day shifts, 7:00 am - 3:30 pm with on-call requirements
SUMMARY: Complete responsibility for the Food Service operation, in regard to food production and sanitation, cafeteria operations, purchasing and receiving of food and supplies; in hands on with the Clinical Staff
RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ In conjunction with manager, develops the objectives, goals and policies and procedures for the department. Implements necessary measures to achieve stated objectives and goals, following through to assure that objectives are met or exceeded.
+ Helps to prepare the annual department budget including: supplies, staffing, capital equipment.
+ Assures the appropriate standards of the JCAHO (FS Only), DOH, OSHA and other regulatory bodies. Reports any anticipated problems and submits action plan for resolution.
+ Maintains records of all transactions that will support the corporations position in vendor claims. Assures that appropriate stock levels are maintained, per department policy.
+ Interviews, hires, promotes, and terminates subordinate staff utilizing Unity Human Resources policies and staff assistance. With direction from manager, determines the staff’s job objectives, work methods, and performance standards. Initiates and or approves, recommends salary changes, promotions, transfers, performing evaluations, discipline, staff coaching, discharge and all other personnel action. Delegates to each supervisor, sufficient authority to perform his/her job function. Manager is kept informed of Human Resources issues.
+ All food production: Developing and ensuring the maintenance of quality and cost effective food services, inventory control standards in production of meals, preparation of menus, patient tray assembly and cafeteria and catering assembly. Maintains an inviting menu selection that utilizes the system menu and clinical approval.
+ Develops and maintains a department quality assurance program in conjunction with the Clinical Staff. Ensure policies and procedures meet all accreditation standards and all federal, state, local government sanitary and safety regulations.
+ Ensures that effective in service training and development programs are provided to all professional and non-professional employee staff based on current results of quality monitoring evaluation, current JCAHO standards, regulations, and codes for all relevant inspection entities; and in support of health system infection control, security, and safety policies and procedures, activities and individual participation are properly documented.
+ Demonstrates the ability to provide leadership in a collaborative, team setting, across multi-kitchen facilities.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ BA Degree in Food Service or a closely related field with appropriate continuing education preferred.
+ Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of administrative & therapeutic aspects of food nutrition and food service administration.
+ 3-5 yrs. food serv. exp. preferred with preference given to # of yrs. spent in Health Care Food Service.
+ Interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills necessary.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

$60,500.00 - $66,300.00

The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for a successful full time applicant. It may be modified in the future and eligible for additional pay components. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
