*The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB)’s Office of Educational Support and Disability Services (ESDS) seeks an energetic, hands-on, committed individual who enjoys working collaboratively to serve as a Testing Center and Disability Services Coordinator (Coordinator, Educational Support and Disability Services). *Reporting to the Director of Educational Support and Disability Services, this position will be responsible for overseeing the UMB Testing Center, satellite testing sites, and other support services for students with disabilities. The Coordinator will oversee the day-to-day operations of the testing centers for UMB students with academic accommodations and work in person at the Testing Center when exams are administered. The position will also coordinate and participate in additional support services for students offered by ESDS, such as conducting student intake interviews with the purpose of evaluating accommodation eligibility, coordinating and implementing students individualized academic accommodations, and assisting with the peer note taker process. The Coordinator will deliver training and provide technical consultation to faculty, staff, and students and participate in university-wide responsibilities including orientation and open houses. The Coordinator will lead recruiting, hiring, training, and supervising student test proctors. The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to manage highly sensitive, confidential information in a compassionate, discreet manner, execute complex administrative tasks, offer direct academic support to students with disabilities, and maintain academic integrity throughout the operations of the testing center. *Benefits Information * UMB offers acomprehensive benefits packagethat prioritizes wellness, work/life balance, and professional development, along withadditional exciting perksthat employees can take advantage of. All employees are expected to work primarily physically within the State of Maryland. */ *Primary Duties* Within established policies and procedures, the Coordinator will perform professional and administrative duties in support of the day-to-day operations of the Office of Educational Support and Disability Services, including: * Manage day-to-day operations of the Testing Center and any satellite locations, including ESDS Testing Center exam schedules, test proctor work schedules, maintain equipment, assistive technology and exam software, inquiries, and administrative tasks. * Work collaboratively with UMB students and schools to coordinate and implement individualized exam accommodations appropriate to the student's disability assessment, federal and state regulations, and best practices in higher education. * Monitor the testing space and proctoring policies to ensure security, fairness, confidentiality, integrity, and preservation of academic conduct codes. * Communicate and collaborate with appropriate faculty and staff members, in compliance with privacy regulations, to address student exam accommodations within the testing center. * Oversee the recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of student employees who are serving as test proctors. * Administer, proctor, and transmit exams following program specific policies and procedures. * Coordinate individual student concerns related to testing accommodations, resolve testing issues as needed, and report any misconduct accordingly within established procedures. * Maintain accurate data collection strategies within the testing center regarding use, student satisfaction, and other outcomes to include in ESDS annual assessments. * Assist with notetaking coordination for students, including recruitment and payment process for notetakers. * Conduct student intake interview with the purpose of evaluating accommodation eligibility within ADA guidelines and to provide reasonable accommodations. * Review documentation to support eligibility for disability services and accommodations. Make individual student academic accommodation decisions based on the established academic accommodation process with guidance by the ADA, AHEAD, and the ESDS Director when needed. * Assist the Director with designing, maintaining, and updating Testing Center and educational access policies and procedures. * Assist with initiatives relating to testing center, disability, and education access * Function as a liaison to independent contractors (e.g., Captioning, American Sign Language Interpreters, Transcription Services) to coordinate exam accommodations. * Perform other duties as assigned. *Education:*Bachelor's degree in a related field such as disability services, education, social work, or counseling. *Preferred Experience:*One to two years relevant work experience that includes proficiency with student support or disability services in an academic or higher education environment preferred. *Certification/Licensure:*National College Testing Association Proctor Certification or willingness to gain in months of hire is preferred. *Other:*May consider a combination of directly related experience and education. Clery act designated job as campus security authorities (CSA) member and will comply with Clery Act requirements. *Knowledge, Skills & Abilities* * Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. * Highly organized, paying close attention to detail. * Able to exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and sound judgment. * Ability to work independently under minimal supervision. * Ability to provide appropriate solutions for challenges as they arise. * Ability to supervise student employees who are hired as student testing proctors. * Ability to prioritize ongoing and new projects. * Skill in continuously seeking to improve the quality of services and processes. * Familiar with accessible technology - both hardware and software. * Commitment to collaborative work with a number of constituents both on and off campus. * Commitment to collaborative work in support of students in the context of the department and university missions and goals. * Skill in relevant PC applications. * Ability to communicate and work with various UMB Schools on the expansion of the testing center satellite locations to serve UMB students. * Working knowledge of the Americans with Disabilities Act, Section 504 and appropriate sections as they apply to higher education. *Hiring Range:*$61,000 - $68,000, commensurate with education and experience.
