In this position, you will support the development of solutions for our EOR Technical Service Team at the Houston, TX site. In this role, you will be in an oilfield laboratory primarily working with surfactants, polymers, and crude oil. Your duties will include, but are not limited to, solution preparation, sample testing, laboratory equipment operation, calibration, and results documentation.

+ Leveraging your education in Chemistry or a related scientific field and laboratory experience, ensuring adherence to internal best practices and methods for executing performance testing of various BASF chemistries used in EOR.
+ Demonstrating comfort in the laboratory and a willingness to learn by conducting physical property evaluations and performance tests to support business needs in the field of EOR.
+ Following customer guidelines to gain insight into technical needs and identify opportunities for efficiency in laboratory testing, showcasing a strong customer focus.
+ Providing support to technical and business development groups on performance characteristics of EOR chemistry, while developing written and oral communication skills to document and present performance data of BASF chemistries internally and externally.
+ Incorporating safe work procedures into all aspects of the job and maintaining a safe laboratory environment, emphasizing safe working habits in a team setting.
If you...
+ Hold a bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.
+ Bring a minimum of 2 years of practical laboratory experience.
+ Demonstrate proficiency in general laboratory techniques and familiarity with basic laboratory instrumentation (e.g., balances, ovens, pH meters, etc.).
+ Possess experience in technical documentation and the ability to interpret documents such as safety operating procedures, operating and maintenance instructions, and safety data sheets.
+ Exhibit flexibility and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities on a daily basis.
