    We are looking for a Regional Technical Developer to join our Performance Chemicals team in Arizona.

Our highly qualified and experienced team with outstanding market knowledge as well as our innovation platform and application know-how ensure our technological competence to provide excellent solutions to our customers.

     

    In this role, you will promote BASF as a value-adding, technically excellent, and professional client-driven company in the manufacture and supply of "Solutions" to the Mining Industry. You'll also lead the technical development of BASF Hydromet business in North America and manage interactions between key customers and account managers.

     

    As a Regional Technical Developer - Hydromet (Arizona), you create chemistry by...

     

    + Interacting regularly with current and potential customers to understand their processes and key issues, and identifying new business opportunities focused on solving these issues.

    + Preparing project proposals for customers in collaboration with account management, focusing on technically proving the effectiveness of our solutions.

    + Planning, designing, and conducting pilot and industrial trials at customer sites.

    + Proactively driving assigned product lines in the region and being the BASF “ambassador” for the BASF Mining Solutions portfolio/technologies in the region.

    + Supporting account managers with technical service and troubleshooting severe technical issues at customer sites.

    + Providing technical training to internal colleagues, being part of the technical community, and spreading technical know-how and expertise among team members.

    + Ensuring personal EHS compliance - Think Safety, Act Safely, every day.

     

    If you...

     

    + Hold a university degree, preferably in Chemistry, Metallurgy, or Chemical/Mining Engineering, or possess comparable working experience.

    + Have a minimum of 5 years of direct experience in the mineral processing industry, including technical development or operations experience at multiple sites/operations.

    + Possess proven application experience and a deep understanding of mining processes and associated chemicals.

    + Maintain a network in related industries, which is considered a plus.

    + Are capable of working in a multi-tasking environment, being team-oriented, and handling difficult situations while solving problems efficiently and effectively.

    + Show willingness to engage in national and international travel at least 50% of the time.

    + Hold conversational proficiency in Spanish, which is considered a plus.
