The Surgery Nurse provides, coordinates, and directs care to individuals and families using a holistic approach. The nursing process is used as a structured mechanism for critical thinking and problem solving in providing effective and appropriate care within a safe and confidential environment from admission to discharge. Each RN is responsible for collaborating with members of the healthcare team, providing leadership, personal/professional development, and conducting him/herself professionally. **Will float between Main and OPSC as needed.**

Duties:

+ Assessment: Performs total body and system assessment each shift/visit according to unit standards.

+ Care of Patient: Including planning, implementing, evaluating, and educating.

+ Clinical/Technical Skills: Utilizes technology, procedures, protocols, standards, and interventions specific to assigned unit.

+ Documentation: Performs legible, timely, concise, and accurate documentation according to policies and procedures.

+ Proficient and competent with the computerized documentation system.

+ Leadership: Accepts responsibility and accountability for own decisions and behaviors. Recognizes, accepts, and cooperates with direction from facility leadership.

Qualifications

Minimum:

+ Current California RN license required

+ One (1) year of experience as a Surgery RN in an acute care setting

+ Current BLS (must be certified through the American Heart Association)

+ Ability to circulate and scrub cases.

Preferred:

+ Two (2) years of experience as a Surgery RN in an acute care setting

Pay Range

$67.57 - $82.06 /hour
