The Role at a glance:
The Sr. Financial Analyst is responsible for the accurate financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis of food service operations within WVU. This role acts as the financial steward of the account, ensuring fiscal responsibility, process integrity, and alignment with the organization's strategic and operational goals. The Finance Manager partners closely with unit leadership and operations teams to drive financial performance, implement controls, and support cost management initiatives.

What you'll be doing:
+ Ensure all revenue items (board counts, retail sales, catering, misc. sales) recorded
+ Ensure all vendor invoices approved and entered into Company Operations Reporting Engine (CORE) system
+ Ensure weekly inventory counts completed and entered into CORE
+ Analyze weekly operating reports for accuracy & provide variance analysis vs. budget
+ Work with operations to ensure timely and accurate entry of financial transactions
+ Work with segment finance to review results
+ Prepare, analyze, and present monthly financial statements (P&L, balance sheets, cash flows).
+ Conduct detailed variance analysis comparing actual performance against budgets and forecasts.
+ Ensure timely closing of books in coordination with corporate finance
+ Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and inventory records
+ Monitor KPIs including food cost, labor cost, and operating margins
+ Lead the annual budget development for all WVU units
+ Prepare rolling forecasts and financial models to guide decision-making
+ Identify trends, risks, and opportunities to enhance profitability
+ Oversee implementation and monitoring of internal controls related to cash handling, procurement, inventory, and payroll
+ Conduct audits and spot checks to ensure policy compliance and integrity
+ Ensure all practices meet corporate standards, GAAP, and regulatory requirements
+ Partner with unit VP of Operations and department heads to optimize operational efficiency
+ Provide financial training and guidance to non-financial managers
+ Support pricing, procurement, and cost containment strategies
+ Understand the contracts to ensure compliance with contractual commitments
+ Ensure proper revenue tracking for national brand royalty accruals and payments in accordance with contractual obligations
What we're looking for:
+ Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (CPA or MBA a plus)
+ 3–5 years of financial experience, preferably in food service, hospitality, or retail environment
+ Experience with contract food services is highly desirable
+ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
+ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
+ Detail-oriented with a commitment to data integrity
+ Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel and financial reporting software

$90,000 depending upon experience
