    Job Title: Customer Service RepresentativeJob Description

     

    As a Customer Service Representative, you will play a pivotal role in managing delivery orders and requests from customers. You will exercise discretion and independent judgment in scheduling and informing dispatch, ensuring seamless coordination and communication. Your expertise in the transportation industry will be crucial in entering orders into the computer for dispatch, especially for technical lines that require specialized knowledge.

    Responsibilities

    + Receive and schedule all delivery orders and requests from customers.

    + Use discretion and independent judgment to relate customer requests and schedules to dispatch.

    + Enter all orders into the computer system for dispatch, requiring specialized training and knowledge of the transportation industry.

    + Ensure rail billing is completed before container delivery to the railroad.

    + Validate in-bond documentation with US customs when necessary.

    + Verify bookings are released at depots for export moves and trace import containers on the rail to confirm delivery by the last free day.

    + Prepare customer reports and tracking/tracing such as divisional pool, MDR, CNI, Daily Activity, and Dispatch Status.

    + Notify Cargo Specialist Supervisor/management of all service failures.

    + Propose and implement solutions to improve overall customer service.

    + Create and update location profiles in the computer system.

    + Act as a dispatcher as needed based on volume and vacation schedules.

    + Engage in other projects as assigned by management.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in customer service and dispatch.

    + Experience with Excel database and scheduling coordination.

    + Ability to communicate customer delivery needs and appointment dates/times.

    + Capability to quote rates to customers and relate service requirements.

    + Competence in customer support, service, and order entry.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Strong data entry skills.

    + Excellent communication and organizational skills.

    + Experience with email and general office duties.

    + Innovative mindset.

    + Knowledge of port and rail operations and US customs.

    + Familiarity with the trucking industry.

     

    Work Environment

     

    The role is based onsite in a corporate environment, within a cubical setting, offering a structured and professional atmosphere conducive to growth and development.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $26.44 - $26.44/hr.
