Position Overview

As a Dental Hygienist, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering comprehensive dental care under the direct supervision of a licensed Dentist—as per New York State guidelines. You’ll be a valued clinical professional and a trusted educator to our patients, helping them achieve and maintain optimal oral health.

What You’ll Do

Clinical Responsibilities:

+ Conduct thorough reviews of medical/dental histories, including medications, allergies, and periodontal status

+ Take and process digital dental radiographs (X-rays)

+ Prepare patients for treatment with professionalism and care

+ Perform oral cancer screenings and full periodontal assessments using both manual and visual techniques

+ Apply fluoride and other preventive agents to arrest decay

+ Provide occlusal sealants and complete routine prophylaxis, scaling, root planning, and polishing

+ Document all findings and treatments in the patient’s electronic dental chart

+ Assist in the diagnosis and detection of oral conditions such as caries, periodontal disease, and TMJ disorders

Patient Education & Care:

+ Deliver individualized oral hygiene instruction

+ Support patients in developing personalized oral health goals (brushing, flossing, nutrition)

+ Promote long-term dental health through education and compassionate communication

Infection Control & Safety:

+ Follow rigorous infection control protocols

+ Ensure sterilization and proper storage of instruments

+ Maintain a clean, safe, and organized clinical environment

What We’re Looking For

Required Qualifications:

+ Graduate of an accredited Dental Hygiene program

+ NYS Dental Hygienist License

+ Minimum of 2 years’ experience preferred

+ BCLS Certification

+ Completed NYS Infection Control Training

Preferred Skills:

+ Proficient with electronic dental records and digital imaging

+ Bilingual in English and Spanish or French a plus

+ Exceptional communication, attention to detail, and a passion for patient care

+ Strong team player with a professional and warm demeanor
