Job Title: Finance Associate V
Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work remotely while adhering to PST hours, though applicants from all time zones are welcome. As part of the Product Strategy team, you will delve into industry intelligence, requiring a robust comprehension of financial metrics. You will craft a detailed understanding of peer investments by analyzing public filings, analyst reports, and conducting your financial analysis.
Responsibilities
+ Serve as the financial Source of Truth for peers and the economy.
+ Source financial data on selected companies through direct sources like company earnings and regulatory filings, as well as indirect sources such as analyst research and financial datasets.
+ Collect financial data on specific segments and industries.
+ Gather financial data on the macroeconomy in the US and selected macro-regions.
+ Develop and maintain proprietary financial models for industry peers using publicly available information and assumptions.
+ Create and update a repository of metrics to assess strategic implications.
+ Construct metrics and KPIs for financial performance across companies, segments, industries, and geographic regions.
+ Assist in sizing product opportunities, industry segments, and predicting product or service performance.
+ Analyze sales and financial performance data to gain insights into product performance, user preferences, and market trends to identify growth opportunities.
+ Design, build, and disseminate regular updates on the financial performance of select peers, focusing on anticipating financial performance and inferring strategic opportunities.
Essential Skills
+ 8+ years of experience as an equity research analyst, in investment banking, or at a financial analysis firm.
+ Strong equity research.
+ Profound understanding of financial modeling, accounting, and data analytics.
+ Familiarity with key datasets and vendors for financial analysis, such as CapIQ, AlphaSense, and Bloomberg.
+ High degree of analytical rigor and ability to work with complex, ambiguous, and unstructured data.
+ Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets and basic SQL.
+ Ability to structure and build summaries and storylines with guidance from senior team members.
+ Comfortable working within large cross-functional organizations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Bachelor's degree in a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
+ CPA certification.
+ Experience with market data and data on competitors.
+ MBA degree or equivalent business background .
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position requiring work during PST hours. The team is new, offering a fresh workload and opportunities for long-term engagement. Applicants should be self-starters, capable of quickly producing reports and thriving in a fast-paced environment.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $57.00/hr.
