Job Title: Director of Finance/Accounting Manager
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Director of Finance who can translate complex financial models into simple, actionable terms for various stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fiscal policy and be adept at creating usable budgets that meet the long-term needs of each department. This role involves overseeing the finance and accounting departments, optimizing systems, and ensuring compliance with financial laws and guidelines.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor financial reports and fiscal policies.
+ Create and manage budgets for the business, assessing long-term departmental needs.
+ Hire and oversee leaders in finance and accounting, providing direction and evaluations.
+ Identify and maintain a payroll service provider compatible with multi-state operations.
+ Maintain accurate payroll records and oversee accounts payable/receivable practices.
+ Optimize QuickBooks for accuracy and implement new procedures to streamline systems.
+ Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and forecasts.
+ Oversee accounting tasks including payroll, taxes, and compliance.
+ Present financial reports to executives and collaborate on budgets and key performance indicators.
+ Meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment and act promptly to resolve issues.
+ Suggest improvements and optimize processes regularly.
+ Monitor and present KPI reports, manage audits, and ensure adherence to financial laws.
+ Set up processes for 1099 and manage out-of-state compliance and taxes.
Essential Skills
+ Proven expertise in accounting, reconciliation, and finance.
+ Strong skills in cost accounting, job costing, and accounts payable/receivable.
+ Experience with balance sheet management, budgeting, and financial reporting.
+ Proficiency in QuickBooks and general ledger management.
+ Knowledge of payroll processes and GAAP and SEC regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
+ Degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
+ Experience in manufacturing or construction is highly preferred.
Work Environment
The role requires onsite work from 8 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday. The work environment is fast-paced, providing an opportunity to own a department and contribute to business growth.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $32.00 - $45.00/hr.
