Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Job Description
A leading cardboard box manufacturer is seeking an Electrical Maintenance Technician to perform both electrical and mechanical repairs within the production facility. The role involves 80% electrical and 20% mechanical repairs, focusing on minimizing downtime by troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
Responsibilities
+ Perform electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic repairs to minimize downtime on production lines.
+ Conduct preventative maintenance according to the PM schedule.
+ Troubleshoot and repair motors controls, PLCs, variable speed AC and DC drive controllers, and calibrate sensors.
+ Troubleshoot circuits such as E-stop circuits, run circuits, and trace circuits to identify and fix issues.
+ Understand and work with servo motion controls, incremental and absolute position encoders, and resolvers.
+ Read and interpret electrical schematics.
+ Perform mechanical repairs on hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including repair/replacement of motors, chains, sprockets, gears, and belts.
+ Maintain and fix equipment including conveyors, die cutters, large printing machines, corrugators, palletizers, wrappers, and material handling equipment.
Essential Skills
+ 5+ years of maintenance/electrician experience.
+ Proficiency in troubleshooting sensors and circuits, PLCs, electrical motors, and drives.
+ Ability to read electrical schematics.
+ Experience with maintenance on motors, chains, sprockets, and belts.
+ Hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance experience.
+ Possession of own tools.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in packaging or high-speed manufacturing environments is a plus.

Work Environment
This fast-paced manufacturing environment is non-climate controlled, with high temperatures on the floor due to machinery. The facility, however, has numerous fans for ventilation. The work schedule includes shifts from 7pm-5am, with a weekend off every three weeks. The company plans to transition to a three-shift system, with potential shifts of 2pm-10pm and 10pm-6am. Initial training will be conducted during the day for 2-3 weeks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
