Job Description
In a dynamic MRO environment, the Structures Technician plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of heavy-lift helicopters, focusing primarily on Boeing CH-47 airframes (Model 107, Model 234 firefighting and heavy lift utility). The technician is responsible for disassembling, repairing, fabricating parts, reassembling, installing, and documenting maintenance actions, supporting full rebuilds and sometimes fleet heavy maintenance checks.
Responsibilities
+ Review task cards and interpret maintenance manuals and blueprints.
+ Utilize hand tools, power tools, and machine tools for removal, inspection, fabrication of replacement parts, repair, and reassembly.
+ Document all maintenance actions accurately.
+ Frequently remove and install standard and blind rivets, drill, ream, and rivet to close tolerance with precision.
Essential Skills
+ 4+ years of experience in aircraft sheetmetal structures repair.
+ Proficiency in fabricating parts, including cutting and bending, working from blueprints.
+ Experience with riveting, drilling, and sheet metal repair.
+ Ability to work with airframe structures.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience repairing structures of CH-47 airframes is preferred.
+ Familiarity with tools required for sheetmetal work; having specialty sheetmetal tools is advantageous.
+ Willingness to submit to testing, including installation of various fasteners, proper countersink depth, precise drilling, and measurement of bend dimensions.
+ Understanding of the concepts of Bend Allowance or Bend Deduction.
+ Must be available within 4 weeks.

Work Environment
Work in heavy lift helicopter fleet MRO and rebuild hangars. Initially, a 5-day schedule (8am - 4:30pm) for several weeks, transitioning to a 4-day schedule (6am - 4:30pm), either Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday.

This is a Contract position based out of Aurora, Oregon.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $52.00/hr.
