    Job Title: Bilingual Team Supervisor - Night Shift

    Job Description

    This position involves supervising a team of 10-15 union workers within the Super Duty Paint Shop department. The supervisor will oversee the cleaning of the paint shop, including tasks such as emptying system debris, tool cleaning, clearing filtering screens, and removing paint processing waste. The role requires an understanding of safety principles, Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) guidelines, Confined Space Safety, and Process Quality Principles.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise and lead a team of union workers in the paint shop department.

    + Ensure adherence to safety principles, including LOTO and Confined Space Safety.

    + Interact effectively with the customer and production managers at all levels.

    + Lead and coach other supervisors and interact with union personnel.

    + Manage by walking around, being detail-oriented, and creating Excel documents.

    + Create, implement, and follow through with corrective action plans.

    + Conduct walkthroughs with employees to coach them on areas needing improvement.

    + Plan and coordinate shutdown activities, including work, supplies, procurement, and communication with the union.

    + Communicate effectively with the site manager and necessary parties about daily activities.

    + Attend and participate in meetings in the absence of the site manager.

    Essential Skills

    + Fluent in English and Spanish.

    + Experience in union supervision within production or manufacturing environments.

    + Understanding of basic manufacturing safety procedures and adherence to quality standards.

    + Strong communication and leadership skills.

    + Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills.

    + Planning and organizational skills.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + 2+ years of recent supervisory experience in a related field.

    + Experience leading a team of unionized associates or employees.

    + Basic understanding of coaching and counseling for corrective behavior or performance improvement.

    + Understanding of quality standards, quality processes, and/or parameters.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is an automotive OEM manufacturing paint shop with robotic paint spray booths requiring regular cleaning. The facility is high-volume, producing over 1,000 units daily, necessitating high performance and effective team leadership. The role is headquartered in the paint department of the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant, supervising a team responsible for end-of-shift industrial cleaning and shift changeover processes. The company has approximately 40-50 employees in the Super Duty paint shop, with casual dress code including jeans and polo or t-shirt, and clean jumpsuit provided for work in the paint shop. This position works the night shift from Saturday to Tuesday, 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM, with Wednesday through Friday off, typically working 45-50 hours weekly without overtime.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, Kentucky.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $30.00/hr.
