    Job Description

    As a PLC Technician, you will be responsible for troubleshooting automation controls including sensors, actuators, electrical controls, belts, conveyors, Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs), Laser Guided Vehicles (LGVs), drivers, variable frequency drives (VFD), and proxy switches. You will plug into laptops to troubleshoot issues as they arise, addressing common issues such as incorrect division of electrical panels and network communication problems with Ethernet.

    Responsibilities

    + Troubleshoot and repair automation controls and systems including PLCs, sensors, actuators, and electrical controls.

    + Address issues with conveyors, AGVs, LGVs, drivers, and VFDs.

    + Perform diagnostics using laptops to solve network communication problems.

    + Utilize PLCs from brands such as Studio 500 & 5000, Omron, Siemens, and Mitsubishi for troubleshooting.

    + Engage in programming and schematic development for automation systems.

    + Work with controls systems and robotics to enhance plant efficiency.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience with PLC troubleshooting and programming.

    + Proficiency in working with Allen Bradley, Siemens, Mitsubishi, and Rockwell PLCs.

    + Understanding of controls systems engineering.

    + Ability to work with pneumatics and hydraulics.

    + Familiarity with working in high-voltage environments (480V, 220V, 110V).

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Any certifications related to PLCs or automation are a plus.

    + Experience in ceramic manufacturing processes is beneficial.

    The work environment can be hot, dirty, and dusty, particularly in areas where raw materials are processed. The plant is highly automated and spans 1 million square feet, providing a dynamic and technologically advanced setting.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mount Pleasant, Tennessee.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $31.00 - $36.00/hr.
