    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will perform mechanical services on equipment, ensuring their optimal functionality. You must have a strong working knowledge of precision alignment, welding, blueprint reading, mathematics, and both preventative and predictive maintenance. The role requires daily use of hand tools such as power tools, hand grinders, saws, drill presses, and hydraulic pullers, and you will also perform welding tasks.

    Responsibilities

    + Complete preventative, predictive, and reactive industrial maintenance throughout the facility.

    + Operate standard maintenance tools including power tools, basic hand tools, electric tools, precision maintenance tools, and preventative maintenance technology tools.

    + Utilize and work with maintenance trades and components such as electrical, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, gearbox and bearing maintenance, lubrication, pumps and piping systems, mechanical maintenance, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    + Modify or build equipment by reading and comprehending electrical/mechanical schematics, blueprints, and/or operation manuals.

    + Document completed work and the conditions found, utilizing maintenance computer software as necessary.

    + Interact regularly with peers and management to pursue continuous improvement of facility operations and promote a teamwork-focused environment.

    + Operate forklifts, loaders, scissor lifts, and aerial lifts.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High school degree or GED

    + 5+ years of experience in industrial maintenance

    + AA degree in Industrial Maintenance preferred but not required

    Work Environment

     

    This role is based onsite in Cedar Rapids with a Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday schedule from 7 am to 5:30 pm. You will work in a facility that requires the use of various maintenance tools and equipment, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of NA, Iowa.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
