    The Municipal Civil Designer is responsible for planning, designing, and overseeing public infrastructure projects within the municipality or for private developers. This includes roads, drainage systems, water supply, sewage systems, land development, stormwater management, and other related public works projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in site development and municipal engineering, and will work closely with government officials, clients, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.

    Responsibilities

    + Prepare, develop, and review engineering plans, reports, and cost estimates.

    + Coordinate with government agencies, utilities, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.

    + Prepare stormwater management, erosion control, and sedimentation design/reports.

    + Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

    + Prepare grant applications and funding proposals for municipal projects.

    + Respond to public inquiries and concerns regarding engineering matters.

    + Prepare proposals and coordinate with clients.

    + Supervise junior engineers, technicians, and field staff as required.

    + Conduct site inspections and assessments to ensure projects meet regulatory standards and engineering best management practices.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.

    + Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) preferred.

    + Minimum of 5 years of experience in municipal, civil, or land development engineering.

    + Strong knowledge of construction materials, project management, and regulatory requirements.

    + Proficiency in CAD software, GIS, and engineering analysis tools.

    + Ability to manage multiple projects and work with diverse teams.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

    + Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in Civil 3D, Civil design, permitting, and grading.

    Work Environment

    The role is fully in-office, with typical hours between 8 AM to 5 PM, and offers flexibility with lunch breaks. Occasional site visits and fieldwork are required. Attendance at public meetings may also be necessary.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $28.85 - $33.65/hr.
