Job Title: Model-Based Systems Engineer (RF/Communications)

    Job Description

We are seeking a Model-Based Systems Engineer with strong experience in RF and communications systems to join our team. The ideal candidate will leverage model-based systems engineering (MBSE) methodologies to analyze, trace, and validate requirements related to advanced RF, wireless, and avionics communication systems. This role involves comparing government and client requirements using MBSE tools to ensure alignment and completeness in complex mission-critical systems.

    Responsibilities

+ Develop and maintain MBSE models focused on RF, wireless, and communication subsystems, ensuring traceability between government and client requirements to System Component Specification Models (CSMs), particularly those involving RF signal chains, antennas, transceivers, and networked communication nodes.

+ Identify and document gaps between RF/communications requirements and system components developed by the government.

+ Conduct standalone analysis projects related to spectrum management, signal integrity, and data link performance, with minimal external coordination.

+ Analyze and reconcile discrepancies between multiple sets of requirements, ensuring RF performance metrics and communication protocol standards are met.

+ Collaborate with stakeholders to clearly communicate technical findings, especially in the context of RF propagation, modulation schemes, and link budgets.

+ Manage multiple RF-focused projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and technical accuracy.

    Essential Skills

+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field with a focus on RF or communications.

+ 3+ years of experience in MBSE modeling, preferably in RF or avionics communications domains.

+ Proficiency in Cameo Systems Modeler or similar MBSE tools.

+ Strong understanding of RF systems engineering, including waveform development, antenna design, and spectrum analysis.

+ Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex RF concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

+ Strong analytical skills with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving RF-related system issues.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with mission systems navigation, guidance, and RF-based positioning systems.

+ Familiarity with certification processes for RF and avionics systems (e.g., DO-254, DO-160).

+ Knowledge of avionics integration, including RF front-end components and digital signal processing.

+ Experience with Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) and network-centric communications architectures.

    Work Environment

The position is onsite at the Bell Helicopter facility in Fort Worth. The work environment is dynamic and requires collaboration with various teams to achieve mission-critical objectives.
