Job Title: Project ManagerJob Description
We are seeking a Project Manager with experience in CVN class or LHD class ships. The Project Manager will oversee projects from the Planning Phase through to the final milestone, ensuring successful delivery of the ship back to the customer. This role requires in-depth knowledge of both Combatant and Non-Combatant vessels, as well as the ability to perform complex analysis and develop new methods. As the lead representative, you will be the primary point of contact for our customers, ensuring accuracy and professionalism to protect the company's fiscal position and reputation.
Responsibilities
+ Lead and manage projects related to Navy ship repairs and modifications.
+ Act as the primary point of contact for customers, maintaining professional and effective communication.
+ Conduct complex analysis and develop new methods within defined objectives.
+ Avoid inaccurate decisions and errors that could impact the organization's fiscal position or reputation.
+ Maintain professional relationships with Teaming Partners and Sub Contractors to track milestones and work completion.
+ Notify Accounting Department of work completion for timely invoicing and payments.
+ Supervise all employees assigned to the project team.
Essential Skills
+ Project management and program management experience.
+ Knowledge and experience with Navy ships, particularly CVN class.
+ Engineering and ship repair expertise.
+ Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Project, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
+ Experience managing technical personnel within complex activities or shipboard availabilities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ AA/AS degree plus 2 years of directly related experience, or 6 years of directly related experience.
+ Six years of shipboard repair experience within a public or private shipyard, or equivalent military experience.
+ Experience with Cost Type or Fixed Type Contracts is a plus.
+ Valid driver's license with reliable and insurable transportation.
+ Ability to gain access to government facilities and obtain a security clearance.
+ Willingness to work nights and weekends during peak workloads and travel to remote locations for extended periods.
+ Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including a respirator.
Work Environment
The Project Manager will report to the Deputy Program Manager and will work closely with Teaming Partners and Sub Contractors. The role requires strong interpersonal skills for effective team management. You will need to be flexible with working hours and locations, including potential night and weekend shifts and travel to remote sites. The position involves maintaining a professional appearance and wearing personal protective equipment as necessary.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $44.00/hr.
