Job Description

We are seeking a skilled mechanic to join our team as a contractor. You will be responsible for front line machine repair and diagnosis. This role involves disassembly and assembly of gears, motors, bearings, clutches, heaters, and light electrical components. You will also perform machine setups and changeovers to set knives, blades, heaters, and rollers. Additionally, you will troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair packaging machinery.

Responsibilities

+ Perform front line machine repair and diagnosis.

+ Disassemble and assemble gears, motors, bearings, clutches, heaters, and light electrical components.

+ Set up and changeover machines to configure knives, blades, heaters, and rollers.

+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair packaging machinery.

Essential Skills

+ Experience as a machine operator performing maintenance on manual machines.

+ Expertise in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.

+ Proficiency in repairing gears, motors, belts, bearings, drives, pneumatics, and hydraulics.

+ Ability to use hand tools such as crescent and Allen keys.

+ Previous experience in a mechanic role diagnosing and repairing machines or equipment.

+ Ownership of personal hand tools.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience as a machine operator with level 1 maintenance.

+ Previous machine adjuster experience.

+ Electrical experience is a plus but not required.

+ Willingness to work overtime on Saturdays and Sundays.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-climate-controlled facility, which can be dusty and dirty. The role requires flexibility with shift work, including 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift openings, and the ability to work overtime on weekends.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $32.00/hr.
