    Job Title: 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician

    Job Description

    As a 2nd Shift Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for handling both emergency work and preventative maintenance, ensuring the smooth operation of production processes. You will work from 3:00pm to 11:30pm with a 30-minute lunch break, and will be expected to work about an hour of overtime daily, including every other Saturday. Overtime and Saturday hours are compensated at time and a half.

    Responsibilities

    + Maintain production equipment by performing preventative maintenance, including service, repair, or replacement of gearboxes, bearings, chains, belts, etc.

    + Ensure the mechanical and physical integrity of production equipment to minimize downtime due to mechanical failures.

    + Perform quick fixes to keep production running, with more extensive repairs conducted during 3rd shift.

    + Repair cylinders, solenoids, and use blueprints to identify line placements in hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

    + Troubleshoot and address electrical issues, with a focus on 480volt/3phase electrical repairs.

    + Assist mechanics in machine repair and equipment troubleshooting as needed.

    + Support 1st shift production departments with timely setups.

    + Safely use maintenance shop equipment, including drill press, lathe, pneumatic tools.

    + Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures.

    + Perform other duties as assigned.

    + Lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and engage in bending, twisting, and turning tasks.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience in repairing hydraulics and pneumatics.

    + Industrial maintenance experience with conveyors.

    + Strong electrical repair and troubleshooting skills, especially with 480volt/3phase systems.

    + Team mentality and positive attitude.

    + High reliability and attendance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in food manufacturing maintenance.

    + PLC experience is a plus.

    Work Environment

     

    This role is based in a food manufacturing facility, one of five in Holland, producing and packaging frozen foods for grocery stores across the U.S. The facility spans approximately 400,000 sq feet, with 80% temperature-controlled at 55 degrees, some coolers at 35 degrees, and a few freezers at 0 to -10 degrees. The environment is clean and air-conditioned to meet FDA standards. Steel-toed boots with liquid resistance are recommended but no special PPE is required. The workplace fosters a collaborative team environment where colleagues support one another.

    This is a Permanent position based out of HOLLAND, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $67600.00/yr.

    Retirement Program Benefits

    • 401(k) Plan:

    • Immediate participation.

    • Request member may save the IRS maximum of their weekly earnings.

    • Request Foods will contribute $1.00 for every $1.00 you elect to have contributed to the plan up to 4% of your base compensation. Additional matching of $.50 for every $1.00 on 5% and 6% contributions.

    • Immediate 100% vesting.

    • Profit Sharing Retirement Plan:

    • Participation following 1 year of service and 1000 hrs worked per year.

    • Request Foods makes an annual discretionary contribution based on a percentage of your total compensation.

    • 6 year vesting schedule.

    Vacation and Holiday Benefits

    • Vacation Benefits:

    • Earn .77 hours per week of vacation upon hire.

    • 2 weeks to start out

    • 3 weeks at year 5

    • 4 weeks at year 10

    • However - they will consider the amount of time spent as a true maintenance tech at other companies when determining vacation time.
