    Join the Cell Kinetics Lab where you will be involved in testing for leukemia and lymphoma using blood, bone marrow, and tissue specimens. You'll work in an 'assembly line' format where samples are processed through stages including pipetting, aliquotting, centrifuging, and chemical treatment to isolate white blood cells. These cells are then stained with antibodies and analyzed using flow cytometers. This dynamic role offers training across multiple benches, initially focusing on three key areas, with opportunities to expand into over ten other benches upon permanent employment.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform pipetting, aliquotting, centrifuging, and chemical treatment of samples to isolate white blood cells.

    + Stain isolated white blood cells with antibodies.

    + Analyze stained cells using flow cytometers.

    + Train on multiple benches, with opportunities for further development upon permanent employment.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science, including fields like Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Animal Science, Marine Biology, Neuroscience, etc.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience with Flow cytometry or cell sorting is a plus.

    + Will accept OPT.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is collaborative and community-oriented, with a friendly and helpful lab culture. The lab consists of around 40 individuals, predominantly aged between 22-33, fostering a friendly atmosphere with events like potlucks and parties organized by a Social Committee. The position follows a Monday to Friday day shift schedule, with start times varying from 7:00 to 8:30 am, and includes working every other Saturday, with the following Monday off as a compensatory day.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
