Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Laboratory Support Specialist to join our team, providing essential support in a dynamic research and development laboratory environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain practical experience in the industry or for those looking to stay connected with laboratory work.
Responsibilities
+ Receive and log in samples daily.
+ Enter data from external laboratories.
+ Collaborate with management to clarify requests and monitor sample progress as needed.
+ Order routine laboratory consumables and stockroom supplies.
+ Perform sample milling duties (grinding) to aid in analytical sample preparation.
+ Assist the R&D safety committee by ensuring proper PPE is available and conducting monthly inventories of laboratory safety supplies, including lab coats, safety glasses, safety islands, and spill response kits.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Excel and basic computer skills.
+ Strong communication skills for scheduling and coordination.
+ High attention to detail for ordering and data entry.
+ Support and service mindset.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Currently in school with at least junior standing and 45-60 credit hours remaining.
+ High School Diploma.
+ Prior experience working in or around a laboratory environment.
+ Pursuing a degree in chemistry, biology, or related fields.
Work Environment
The work environment consists of a newly remodeled R&D laboratory and office setting. You will have an office cube for computer work and will also work in the sample milling room, which can be dusty. The position follows a Monday to Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no overtime expected. The facility is modern and well-equipped, providing a supportive and collaborative team atmosphere.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
