Software Engineer – Major Defense Program
Compensation: Up to $65/hr
DOD Clearance Requirements: Active Secret Clearance Required
We are seeking a skilled Software Engineer to support a major defense program focused on delivering mission-critical software solutions. This is a high-impact role where you’ll contribute to the development and integration of advanced systems that support national security objectives.
Key Responsibilities
+ Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather requirements and architect complex software solutions.
+ Prototype, build, and support test plan execution for critical subsystems.
+ Conduct quality reviews and troubleshoot operational issues.
+ Serve as a subject matter expert for key components and influence overall software design.
+ Participate in the full software development lifecycle—from requirements and modeling to testing, integration, and deployment.
+ Solve complex integration challenges and support cross-functional teams.
+ Communicate effectively with Program Management, external suppliers, and government customers.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Experience
+ Proficiency in Java, C/C++, or other object-oriented programming languages.
+ Strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and automated testing.
+ Experience working in Linux environments.
+ Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Ability to lead initiatives and drive solutions in a collaborative environment.
+ Active SECRET Clearance required.
+ Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 9+ years of software engineering experience, OR Master’s degree with 7+ years, OR PhD with 4+ years.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr.
