Description

The Application Engineer will develop engineering solutions using HORIBA’s test automation software. This includes supporting sales, providing technical assistance, training customers, and demonstrating test automation systems. Key Responsibilities: -Commission new and upgrade existing Test Automation Systems at customer sites. -Provide technical consultation and problem-solving within warranty and scope. -Translate technical documents into system configurations for test operations. -Propose and participate in the development of new products and features. -Test new system functionalities as part of quality assurance. -Assist in training activities led by Technical Specialists. This person will work in both an office setting as well as out at customer sites (50% of the time). Will take part in many meetings throughout the week and will be asked to aid in presentations/internal and external meetings with customer. This individual will spend the first 3 months or so at our customer site getting acclimated to equipment, learning ins-and-outs, and getting ready to be released into the field. From there, they will be customer-faced and will be the eyes and ears of our customer while at sites. 30% travel: Defines travel as anything outside of a 100 mile radius. If the client is within Michigan (for example Ford, GM, Chrysler, ect) this is not consider travel. If their clients are outside of 100 mile radius this is consider travel, all travel costs are expensed or prepaid. If the project is projected to last 2-3 weeks they will stay at their worksite/client site. If the project lasts longer than 3 weeks they will return home.

MUST HAVE: - Bachelor’s degree in: Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Chemical Engineering, Physics or Chemistry - Willingness to: Travel (mostly domestic, some international) -Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Python, LabVIEW - Basic knowledge of: Automotive test instrumentation, Computer-to-instrument communication PREFERRED: - Emissions equipment experience

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
