Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to ensure the efficient operation and maintenance of building systems. The role involves performing routine preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, and repairing equipment using a variety of tools and testing devices.
Responsibilities
+ Utilize hand and power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical and electronic testing devices.
+ Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure machines run smoothly and building systems operate efficiently.
+ Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions by consulting blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs.
+ Assemble, install, or repair wiring, electrical or electronic components, pipe systems, plumbing, machinery, or equipment.
+ Adjust functional parts of devices or control instruments using hand tools, levels, plumb bobs, or straightedges.
+ Repair or replace defective equipment parts, using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
+ Record type and cost of maintenance or repair work.
+ Repair and replace minor and major HVAC equipment, electrical fixtures, and perform preventative maintenance.
+ Maintain safe operation and maintenance of building facilities, electrical and mechanical systems, and plumbing.
+ Operate and maintain specific equipment, conduct surveys and inventories, perform preventive maintenance activities, and respond to customer complaints.
+ Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, and written technical machinery documents.
+ Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.
+ Perform daily chemical tests on water systems and adjust chemical mixtures and feed rates.
+ Install wall-hung furnishings and equipment.
+ Maintain related computer databases.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in plumbing, facilities maintenance, electrical systems, HVAC, repair, and mechanical systems.
+ Ability to perform preventive maintenance and building maintenance.
+ Experience with grinders, facilities wiring, and troubleshooting lighting and fixtures.
+ Minimum of eight years of related experience and/or training.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED). Technical school and/or degree a plus.
+ Certificates in welding, boiler repair, electronics, auto repair, and related fields a plus.
+ Must possess and maintain a CT driver’s license.
+ Ability to communicate effectively, complete task sheets, and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
+ Ability to understand instructions and troubleshoot problems independently from blueprints, work orders, and schematics.
+ Basic arithmetic skills involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
+ Knowledge of auto mechanics and ability to operate a plow truck.
+ Comfortable working from ladders at heights above 10'.
+ Proficient in using electronic testing equipment and meters.

Work Environment
The work environment is hot and requires working the 2nd shift from 3 pm to 11:30 pm.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Mcdonough, Georgia.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $29.00/hr.
