    Job Title: Custodial Worker

    Job Description

    The custodial worker maintains the cleanliness and orderliness of office buildings and facility areas by performing various cleaning and maintenance tasks. This role requires a calm, friendly, reliable, and professional individual with janitorial or custodial experience, preferably in an office or industrial setting.

    Responsibilities

    + Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim.

    + Maintain cleanliness in offices, hallways, lobbies, lounges, conference rooms, lunchrooms, corridors, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.

    + Clean and sanitize restrooms/bathrooms using established practices and procedures, replacing supplies as needed.

    + Sweep and mop floors.

    + Clean and vacuum rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and window coverings, and dust furniture and equipment.

    + Polish metalwork.

    + Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, door panels, and sills as needed.

    + Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas.

    + Follow instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies, using them as directed.

    + Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools.

    + Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + High School Diploma or equivalent required.

    + Minimum of 2 years of related janitorial or custodial experience.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is clean, organized, well-lit, and non-union. The position operates during the first shift, from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday. While the summer heat can affect the environment, the facilities remain comfortable and conducive to productivity.

     

    Job Type & Location

     

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cherry Valley, Illinois.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.
