    Construction Materials Technician

    Job Description

    We are seeking both entry-level and mid-level Construction Materials Technicians to join our team. You will be responsible for testing concrete for slump, density, and moisture in a laboratory setting. This role offers in-house training and the opportunity to work closely with project managers, engineering technicians, and client and contractor representatives.

    Responsibilities

    + Conduct tests on concrete to determine slump, density, and moisture levels.

    + Communicate effectively with project managers, engineering technicians, and client representatives about site requirements and testing results.

    + Transport material samples along with identifying documentation to the laboratory for further testing and analysis.

    + Prepare and submit written and digital reports of data and observations for daily transmittal to the Project Manager.

    + Maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment, vehicles, and work areas.

    + Possibly assist with the scheduling and dispatching of Technicians to project sites.

    + Adhere to strict safety standards and provide clear documentation of findings.

    + Take on progressively increased training and responsibility in work assignments.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in concrete testing, materials testing, and use of nuclear gauges.

    + Strong communication and computer skills, including the ability to log daily field reports and send emails.

    + Experience in construction materials testing and quality control is advantageous.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Certifications such as ACI level are a plus.

    + Previous experience in construction materials testing is beneficial.

    + Bachelor's or associate's degree in civil engineering, geology, geoscience, or a related field is preferred.

    Work Environment

    This role is on-site, full-time, with shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours a day. Please note that 40 hours per week is not guaranteed due to weather conditions. Employees will receive a company vehicle, cell phone allowance, and company laptop. Additional benefits include paid certifications, extra training opportunities, and potential for profit sharing in an employee-owned firm.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
