    Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

    Job Description

    The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of plant equipment, including mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. This role involves troubleshooting issues with machinery and equipment to ensure operational efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    + Repair and troubleshoot mechanical components such as belts, pulleys, gearboxes, bearings, chains, and more.

    + Diagnose and repair pneumatic systems, including tubing, regulators, air cylinders, and solenoid valves.

    + Execute work orders using basic computer skills and Windows software.

    + Demonstrate basic knowledge of electrical motors and air/electric pumps.

    + Operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts.

    + Perform setups and changeovers of machinery, ensuring standard operating procedures are followed.

    + Reduce downtime by maintaining and repairing equipment within the assigned zone.

    + Identify, report, and correct potential safety issues within the zone.

    + Ensure accurate lockout/tagout procedures for equipment.

    + Maintain and adjust low voltage photo-eyes, sensors, proximity switches, and perform 3-phase wiring and control circuits.

    + Assist in the installation of machinery and maintain pumps, valves, meters, gauges, and piping.

    + Contribute to continuous improvement efforts to reduce costs or increase productivity.

    + Understand and apply lean manufacturing tools and collaborate on continuous improvement activities.

    + Maintain open communication with supervisors and managers.

    Essential Skills

    + Mechanical repair and troubleshooting experience.

    + Knowledge of pneumatic systems.

    + Basic computer skills for work order execution.

    + Understanding of electrical motors and pumps.

    + Heavy equipment operation experience.

    + Minimum of 5 years of manufacturing experience.

    + Ability to perform setups and changeovers of machinery.

    + Experience in reducing downtime and ensuring safety.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school is a plus.

    + Experience with preventive maintenance and continuous improvement.

    + Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies.
