Job Title: Equipment Mechanic

Job Description

As an Equipment Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a variety of construction equipment. This includes changing oil, filters, checking fluid levels, greasing parts, troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, and making corrective repairs.

Responsibilities

+ Conduct preventative maintenance on construction equipment including forklifts, aerial equipment, and earthmoving machines.

+ Perform mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and make necessary repairs.

+ Make hydraulic repairs, conduct equipment inspections, change cylinders, and replace parts.

+ Utilize pneumatic tools for various maintenance tasks.

+ Work on both rental fleet equipment and construction company-owned machinery.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in mechanical maintenance and repair.

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

+ Experience with heavy equipment maintenance and mechanical troubleshooting.

+ Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and hydraulics.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ 2-5 years of experience as a heavy equipment mechanic.

+ Military or government background is ideal.

+ A clean DMV record is required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $45.00/hr.
