Job Title: Machine Operator

Job Description

This position is primarily responsible for the safe and efficient operation of process and packaging equipment, from start-up to shut-down, for processing and packaging food. The role ensures the production of safe, quality food for human consumption and may also involve the mixing and cooking of candy recipes.

Responsibilities

+ Change programs and parameters in chocolate tempering machines, depositors, enrobers, and various machines related to food processing and packaging.

+ Assemble pipes, pumps, and kettle parts for cooking and mixing candy recipes, using common hand tools.

+ Follow recipes to weigh ingredients, use equipment to mix and cook, and measure temperature, viscosity, and brix.

+ Use personal protective equipment (PPE) for tasks related to cooking and operating equipment.

+ Operate machines, including both manual and computer-controlled models, and perform set-ups and changeovers based on daily production requirements.

Essential Skills

+ 2+ years of machine operating experience

+ Proficiency in following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)

+ Experience in food production and packaging

+ Ability to lift 50+ pounds

+ Familiarity with machine operation in a food manufacturing setting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Ability to interpret fractions and ingredient lists

Work Environment

The work environment is GMP regulated, with the factory temperature ranging from 67 to 85 degrees. Employees work in a facility dedicated to the production of chocolate-covered nuts, candies, and other products for well-known retailers. The available shifts include a first shift from 6 am to 4:30 pm.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37440.00 - $43680.00/yr.

-Direct Hire

-$18-$22 an hour

-Full Benfits (Ask for a copy)

-4 day work week M-Th

-Raise after 6 months ($1.00-$2.00) dollars

-Shift Premium: 2nd shift: $2.00 dollars/hr

-Stability within Food Industry

-Climate controlled at 69-70 degrees year round due to chocolate
