Job Title: Aircraft Assembly Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Assembly Technician to join our team. This full-time role requires proficiency in basic sheet metal work, riveting, and assembly methods, with a focus on assembling, modifying, and installing aircraft components and sub-assemblies. You will be responsible for ensuring quality standards are met and identifying nonconforming parts and processes.
Responsibilities
+ Interpret and work with blueprints, specifications, and work orders to meet quality requirements.
+ Gather necessary data to facilitate assembly progress.
+ Set up and operate various shop equipment, including squeezes, drill motors, and countersink cutters.
+ Troubleshoot problems and implement process improvements.
+ Perform required rework and changes during the assembly process.
+ Assemble major components of sub-assemblies, major assemblies, and smaller bench work assemblies.
+ Move and obtain correct parts, materials, tools, and assemblies.
Essential Skills
+ 5 years of experience in complex assembly and structures.
+ Proficiency in interpreting blueprints.
+ Time management skills.
+ Ability to communicate verbally regarding work processes.
+ Ability to write and record process information.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ High school diploma or GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
+ Six months vocational training preferred.
+ Experience with sheet metal work is advantageous.
+ Prefer previous experience with Spirit, Boeing, Textron, or Cessna.

Work Environment
The role operates on a first shift from 6am to 2:30pm, with potential overtime on Saturdays twice a month. Employees work in a climate-controlled area and are expected to wear steel toe boots. The work environment is loud, with exposure to vibration and occasional proximity to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wichita, Kansas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
