Job Title: Concrete Finisher
Job Description
Concrete Finishers, often referred to as Cement Masons, play a vital role in the construction industry by ensuring the smooth and precise finish of poured concrete surfaces. These professionals work on a variety of projects including floors, sidewalks, driveways, basements, and foundations, utilizing both hand and power tools to align forms, patch voids, and cut expansion joints.
Responsibilities
+ Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Understand project specifications by reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings.
+ Site Preparation: Set up and prepare construction sites for concrete pouring.
+ Mixing and Pouring Concrete: Mix, pour, and spread concrete using various tools and equipment.
+ Finishing Concrete: Smooth and finish surfaces of poured concrete using tools such as rakes, shovels, hand or power trowels, hand or power screeds, and floats.
+ Inspection and Repair: Inspect the concrete to identify any cracks or damages and repair them as necessary.
+ Curing Concrete: Monitor the curing of the concrete to ensure it hardens to a suitable quality and strength.
+ Compliance: Comply with all safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
+ Material Management: Manage the procurement of concrete, tools, and other necessary materials.
Essential Skills
+ Proven experience in concrete work, including residential or commercial flat work, foundations, and excavation.
+ Proficiency in using hand and power tools, reading blueprints, and performing tasks such as setting up forms and pouring concrete.
+ Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting, carrying, and maneuvering heavy items.
+ Detail-oriented with the ability to ensure the quality and precision of concrete work.
+ Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in concrete finishing and concrete construction.
+ Knowledge of concrete walls and flatwork.
Work Environment
Concrete Finishers work predominantly outdoors, exposed to various weather conditions. The role involves collaboration with a team where safety and precision are prioritized. Professionals are expected to dress appropriately for outdoor work, and utilize a range of hand and power tools.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
