Job Title: 1st Shift Quality Inspector/CMM Programmer
Job Description
The Quality Control (QC) Programmer I is an entry-level position responsible for programming coordinate measuring machines (CMMs), vision systems, and form gauges to support quality control and metrology functions. This role involves collecting inspection data, troubleshooting gauge issues, and supporting inspection teams across multiple plants. Based at Plant 1, the QC Programmer will develop accurate and reliable measurement programs using ZEISS CALYPSO and other systems, with growth potential into higher-level programmer roles.
Responsibilities
+ Develop and maintain measurement programs for CMMs using ZEISS CALYPSO.
+ Program vision systems and form gauges such as Keyence and Rondcom.
+ Retrieve and interpret engineering prints and CAD models to guide programming.
+ Collect and document inspection data using company metrology templates.
+ Perform startup, calibration checks, and daily verification of measurement systems.
+ Set up AutoRun programs and program offline with or without 3D models.
+ Troubleshoot gauge issues and identify root causes when equipment is down.
+ Recommend temporary alternative gauges or methods for inspection teams.
+ Document and communicate unresolved equipment issues to QC Programmer II.
+ Enter and collect inspection data into SAP.
+ Support correlation, stability, and statistical studies.
+ Compile and share measurement and failure data with leads or programmers.
+ Maintain clean and safe work areas and follow housekeeping protocols.
+ Perform other support duties as assigned by the supervisor or programming lead.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of experience operating and programming CMMs or other metrology tools.
+ Familiarity with ZEISS CALYPSO is highly preferred; knowledge of Keyence/Rondcom is a plus.
+ Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret complex blueprints and CAD models.
+ Working knowledge of inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, height gauges, etc.).
+ Basic familiarity with SAP and inspection data systems.
+ Proficiency with MS Windows, Word, Excel, and Outlook.
+ Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
+ Ability to work independently while supporting multiple buildings and teams.
+ Ethical judgment and attention to detail in handling inspection data and gauge setups.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Training/Tuition Reimbursement available for direct employees.

Work Environment
Work in a very clean and organized machine shop with a positive culture and room for training and development. The role is based on the 1st shift from Monday to Friday, 6am to 2:30pm, with overtime opportunities. There are also 2nd shift openings from 4pm to 12:30am with a $2.00 shift differential. Pay depends on experience and skill level. Comply with all safety and sanitation regulations and use all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lincolnshire, Illinois.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
