Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Description

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for scheduled, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance and repair of a wide variety of beverage manufacturing and packaging equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical skills base in areas such as hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, conveyor systems, and PLC usage. The technician will work with equipment used for bottling juice boxes, pouches, bottles, and various cartons.

Responsibilities

+ Effectively complete preventive and proactive maintenance according to the schedule to prevent equipment breakdowns.

+ Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages, collaborating with other departments.

+ Act as the initial responder when a production line stops, ensuring mechanical help is on site promptly using electrical and mechanical skills.

+ Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize manufacturing downtime.

+ Complete all required paperwork and documentation in the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).

+ Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment, including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary.

Essential Skills

+ 3 years of Industrial Maintenance experience, preferably in a food environment.

+ Experience diagnosing and troubleshooting PLCs.

+ Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics with conveyor systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Journeyman Card is a plus but not required.

+ Previous union experience, especially with the Steel Workers Union.

+ Previous food-grade experience.

+ Experience in waste water treatment.

Work Environment

The work environment is clean and involves food production. Technicians need to bring their own tools. Openings are available on D shift, with seniority determining crew preference. Shift flexibility is important. The hours for Crew D are: 1/2 Wednesday (1am-7am), Thursday, Friday, and Saturday (7pm-7am).

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of PAW PAW, Michigan.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $75000.00/yr.
