Job Title: Manual Machinist (Afternoon)

Job Description

Join a dynamic service and repair company specializing in pumps and rotating equipment as a Manual Machinist. You will work in the shop to recondition pumps from the field based on blueprints and drawings. Your work will involve handling extremely large pumps, utilizing a Horizontal Boring Mill to bore out components, and performing tasks like drilling, facing, and machining pump parts.

Responsibilities

+ Recondition pumps using Horizontal Boring Mill based on blueprints and drawings.

+ Perform line boring, drilling, and machining tasks on pump components.

+ Machine parts such as shafts, sleeves, rings, impellers, heads, and casings.

+ Create serrated finishes for flanges, dial pins, and keyways.

+ Ensure precision in cutting diameters on IDs and mounting faces for bearing houses.

Essential Skills

+ 10+ years experience as a Manual Machinist.

+ Proficiency with Horizontal Boring Mill (HBM) and line boring on pumps.

+ Expertise in lathe machining and vertical milling (Bridgeport machine).

+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints accurately.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience with Vertical Turret Lathe (VTL).

+ Extensive pump part machining experience with tight tolerances.

+ Experience with turbine or compressor parts.

Work Environment

Expect variations in weekly hours depending on work orders, ranging from 40-hour weeks to potentially longer shifts. The dress code includes steel-toed boots, jeans, a work shirt, and safety glasses.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $37.00 - $45.00/hr.
