    Job Title: Welder

    Job Description

    As a Welder, you will perform specialized welding functions essential for the production of heat and transfer equipment. You will primarily engage in Flux Core and TIG welding, ensuring proficiency in an out-of-position manner with a minimum of twelve procedures. This includes FCAW, GMAW, and GTAW processes, along with two specialty procedures involving small diameter pipe, tube to tubesheet, subarc, overlay, and stress. You are expected to maintain high weld quality and efficient production time.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret shop blueprints related to weld joints, symbols, and general layout for fit-up or assembly operations.

    + Operate overhead cranes and forklifts for welding part setups and removals.

    + Set up and operate arc-air equipment.

    + Control weld rods in accordance with AS 5.2 standards.

    + Perform in-process inspection and non-destructive examinations (MT and PT).

    + Understand the effect of interpass temperature and heat input on distortion during and after welding with steels and alloys.

    + Conduct minor maintenance on wire feed machines and related welding equipment.

    + Execute layouts, basic fit-up, and assembly operations.

    + Meet basic tool requirements for the classification.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in Flux Core welding in a manufacturing or shop environment.

    + Proficiency in TIG welding.

    + Ability to pass 5F and 6G weld tests.

    + Blueprint reading skills related to welding joints and symbols.

    + Understanding of various grades of materials including pipe, plate, bar, and fittings.

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

    + Forklift operation skills.

     

    Work Environment

     

    You will work in a machine and fabrication shop environment with shifts from 6:00am to 2:30pm, Monday through Friday (8-hour shifts), or from 3:00pm to 1:30am, Monday to Thursday (10-hour shifts). Voluntary overtime is available depending on the weekly workload.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
