    Job Title: CNC Machinist

    Job Description

    Join a dynamic team as a CNC Machinist specializing in mills, where you will machine large stamping die components. You will be responsible for setting up mills, downloading programs onto machines, editing G&M codes, and running short-run parts. You will work with a variety of CNC machines including OKK with Fanuc controls, Tarus with Heidenhein controls, and other mills and Wire EDMS.

    Responsibilities

    + Set up tools and perform tool changes on CNC milling machines.

    + Read and interpret blueprints accurately.

    + Edit G&M codes on the computer, demonstrating expertise in custom block editing and template changes.

    + Understand and apply knowledge of drilling cycles and speeds and feeds.

    + Utilize micrometers, calipers, gages, and indicators in daily tasks.

    + Manage the assembly of dies from scratch and own the process throughout.

    + Perform die tryouts and repairs during tryouts, ensuring quality and customer satisfaction.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency with CNC Milling Machine operations.

    + Experience with Fanuc and Heidenhein controls.

    + Ability to make edits to G&M codes and understand drilling cycles.

    + Capability to lift heavy components with crane assistance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in Tarus 5 Axis machining is advantageous.

    + Prototype, short run, and tool & die experience is beneficial.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is a stamping and CNC facility with older machines, in operation for over 40 years. You will be working with large die components, primarily serving GM as the largest customer. Currently, the work schedule is 40-45 hours weekly, Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays. There are openings on the 1st shift from 6:30 am to 2:30 pm and the 2nd shift from 2:30 pm to 11 pm.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roseville, Michigan.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
