    Job Description

    We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Assembler to join our team. This role involves the assembly of large diesel and natural gas engines using a variety of hand and power tools, specialized torque equipment, pneumatic tooling, and electrical testing equipment. The successful candidate will manipulate engine components during the assembly process and learn the technical aspects of engine assembly, including troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines. This is not an assembly line position; we are looking for individuals who are seriously mechanically inclined.

    Responsibilities

    + Assemble large diesel and natural gas engines according to customer specifications.

    + Utilize a variety of tools including torque wrenches, pneumatic air power tools, and DC tooling.

    + Interpret engine needs and perform tasks using the correct tools.

    + Review work instructions and document processes/progress using CPU skills.

    + Perform troubleshooting and repair of in-process engines.

    Essential Skills

    + Experience using mechanical tooling such as torque equipment and DC tools.

    + Mechanical assembly, blueprint reading, and knowledge of hand and power tools.

    + Mid-level mechanical aptitude.

    + Experience in industries such as automotive, diesel technician, lube technician, tire shop, farming, construction translate well

    + Ability to follow written work instructions, SOPs, and blueprints.

    + Strong CPU skills to follow engineering drawings and processes.

    + Ability to pass written and hands-on assessments during the training period.

    Available Shifts & Pay

    + 1st Shift: 6:30AM-2:30PM

    + Overtime scheduled every other Saturday

    + 2nd Shift: 2:30PM-10:30PM

    + Overtime scheduled every other Saturday

    + 3rd Shift: 10:30PM-6:30AM.

    + Overtime scheduled every other Saturday

    + Weekend 1st Shift: 6AM-6PM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

    + Weekend 3rd Shift: 6PM-6AM (Friday, Saturday, Sunday)

    + **$21.34 with shift differentials for off shifts**

    Work Environment

     

    Work in a manufacturing environment that is temperature-controlled with a relaxed dress code. The facility is clean with safety as the highest priority, requiring PPE such as steel or composite toe shoes, earplugs, and protective glasses. The campus is tobacco-free, with approved smoking areas in the parking lot during break times.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lafayette, Indiana.

     

    Pay and Benefits

     

    The pay range for this position is $21.34 - $22.09/hr.
