Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Prep Laborer to join our team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role involves preparing axles and other components for painting by ensuring surfaces are clean, sanded, and properly masked for painting.

Responsibilities

+ Prepare axles and other components for painting by cleaning, sanding, and masking.

+ Ensure surfaces are free of contaminants and defects.

+ Apply primers and coatings as required.

+ Inspect surfaces for contamination, damage, or imperfections.

+ Clean and degrease surfaces to be painted.

+ Scrape and sand surfaces to remove old paint, rust, or other imperfections.

+ Mix and apply primer or undercoat.

+ Mask and demask to protect areas that should not be painted.

+ Maintain equipment and tools used for painting preparation.

+ Document preparation processes and materials used for quality control purposes.

+ Maintain a clean and organized work area.

+ Follow safety protocols and guidelines.

Essential Skills

+ Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment preferred.

+ Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.

+ Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Experience in paint preparation, sanding, priming, and masking is advantageous.

Work Environment

Work in a dynamic manufacturing environment with an active assembly line and forklifts throughout the facility. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed boots, ear plugs, and gloves are required. The position offers shifts from 5am/6am to 2:30pm and from 3pm to midnight.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Alburtis, Pennsylvania.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
