Job Title: Material Handler
Job Description
The Material Handler will be responsible for loading and unloading trucks and vans, utilizing a sit-down forklift when necessary or manually lifting products weighing up to 65 lbs. The role involves picking and selecting specific customer orders, requiring the ability to follow written instructions. While prior experience is preferred, candidates with other relevant competencies will be considered.
Responsibilities
+ Load and unload trucks and vans using a sit-down forklift or manual lifting.
+ Pick and select specific customer orders based on written instructions.
+ Perform shipping and receiving tasks, including inventory control and packaging.
+ Handle material efficiently with a focus on safety and accuracy.
+ Conduct basic data entry using shipping platforms like UPS and FedEx.
Essential Skills
+ 2+ years of warehouse experience.
+ 6+ months of forklift operation experience.
+ 1+ year of material handling experience.
+ 6+ months of experience with computer or inventory systems, specifically UPS or FedEx.
+ High school education or equivalent.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience with shipping using SAP and primarily domestic shipping.
+ Ability to lift up to 65 lbs.
+ Proficiency in data entry and basic computer use.

Work Environment
The work environment is a smaller-sized warehouse with four primary dock doors. Candidates must be prepared to dress according to the weather, as open doors can lead to chilly conditions. Employees are expected to manage their responsibilities independently, fostering a sense of ownership and accountability.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of New Britain, Connecticut.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr.
