Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Job Description

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining hydraulic systems, gearboxes, conveyor equipment, vibrating feeders, hammer mills, cranes, mechanical drives, and a variety of other industrial equipment. You will utilize hand tools, measuring devices, and power tools such as drill presses, saws, grinders, and more. Your role will involve welding, burning, and metal joining tasks, as well as operating cranes and mobile equipment.

Responsibilities

+ Maintain hydraulic systems, gearboxes, and conveyor equipment.

+ Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, assemble, inspect, and test industrial equipment and machinery.

+ Install, inspect, maintain, and repair piping systems and associated fixtures.

+ Perform cutting, welding, brazing, and soldering work with metal sheet and plate.

+ Operate cranes and mobile equipment, and erect and disassemble scaffolding.

+ Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, charts, manuals, and diagrams.

+ Complete reports and necessary paperwork.

Essential Skills

+ Proficiency in hydraulics, conveyor systems, gearboxes, and pneumatics.

+ Experience working in a heavy industrial environment such as steel, aluminum, or nuclear facilities.

+ Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment efficiently.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Welding and fabrication skills.

+ Experience with bucket elevators, screw jacks, and rotary valve feeders.

+ 3-5+ years of experience in a heavy industrial environment.

+ Previous experience in Navy nuclear, foundry, paper mill, or aluminum industries.

Work Environment

This is a very heavy industrial environment that is dirty and non-climate controlled, with some areas being extremely hot due to equipment operation and outdoor climate. The team treats everyone like family, with mechanics collaborating with electricians to solve issues. The maintenance team currently has 86 members, aiming for a headcount of 106. The dress code includes steel toe boots, hard hats, safety glasses, and ear plugs, with additional PPE as needed. The shift schedule is rotating, with options for straight day shifts or rotating shifts depending on department needs. Shifts typically run from 7am-7pm for days and 7pm-7am for nights.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Moncks Corner, South Carolina.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $81494.00/yr.

- 9.58% shift differential once they move onto swing shift (Approximately an extra 3/hr)

- They can test every 6 months to test into higher tech level and get pay increase

- Only non-union smelter facility in the U.S

- 401K matches 6%. Benefits start on Day 1 (Full medical, dental and vision coverage – very competitive benefits and multiple options. You can get full copy during interview)

- $300 tool stipend each year

- All uniforms and PPE are provide by company, including prescription safety glasses

- Free clinic onsite for check ups or any issues that happen during the day

- Quarterly bonus up to 10% of what they have made in total that quarter. This is based on company profitability. They currently are averaging 4-6% per quarter

o Quarter bonus is tied to attendance.

- HUGE on promoting from within. They have a ton of supervisors/managers who have been there for 30-40 years and nearing retirement. This is agreat opportunity for people coming in to train and develop themselves for those roles

- If you work 6 days in a row, on your 6th day you are paid x1.75. If you work 7 days in a row, your 7th day is double pay

- Vacation: Start out immediately at 80 hours. 3 years, 152 hours, 5 years - 175 hours, 10 years - 192 hours, 15 years - 208 hour
