The Sourcing and Category Specialist ll is responsible for leading sourcing events and managing designated spend categories. The role also collaborates with internal teams to support sales bids and identify potential new products or suppliers to meet evolving business needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITY:
+ Execute category strategies and sourcing initiatives aligned with business goals, including but not limited to raw materials, manufacturing, logistics, Information Technology.
+ Lead sourcing processes (RFI, RFP, RFQ) and supplier evaluations.
+ Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure value and risk mitigation.
+ Analyze spend and market trends to identify savings and innovation opportunities.
+ Collaborate with sales teams to support bids by securing pricing, lead times, and supplier commitments.
+ Partner with R&D, Product, and Sales to identify and source components for new products.
+ Monitor supplier KPIs and performance to ensure compliance and service delivery.
+ Engage Legal, Finance, and other stakeholders to ensure thorough contract review.
BASIC KNOWLEDGE DESIRED:
+ Strong communication and analytical skills.
+ ERP and procurement tool proficiency.
+ Proficient Microsoft Suite, including Excel; familiarity with procurement tools is a plus.
+ Familiarity with procurement standards, best practices, and compliance regulations.
+ Demonstrate understanding and application of Nomad Core Values.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
+ Ability to stand and sit for extended periods.
+ Manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
+ Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT:
+ Professional office environment with regular interaction with guests, clients, team members, and vendors.
+ Typical indoor manufacturing environment. Noise level is usually moderate. Safety glasses and closed-toe shoes are required when on the production floor.
+ Everyday workwear must be business casual/smart casual and appropriate for the office environment.
+ Subject to temperatures fluctuations if/when job duties require time on the production floor.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, or related field.
+ 3–5 years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or category management.
+ Experience with sales bid support or cross-functional pricing collaboration.
