    Advancement at CU Boulder encourages applications for a Digital Communications & Engagement Program Manager! Reporting to the Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, this role on the Advancement Marketing and Communications team ideates, plans, and manages digital marketing and e-Communications initiatives for alumni, donors, and constituents of CU Boulder under the supervision of the Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist and unit leadership.

     

    Using core platforms including Salesforce, Marketing Cloud, and Cvent, the Program Manager builds and deploys strategic email communications, manages eComm user support, and maintains crucial CRM operations. This role actively provides to the success of integrated digital marketing campaigns, from initial strategy development through execution, analysis, and optimization.

     

    The ideal candidate is collaborative, organized, and technically adept, capable of independently completing projects while working closely with internal colleagues and campus partners to deliver thoughtful, data-informed digital engagement experiences.

     

    This role works closely with the team, but also with the Creative Communications and Storytelling teams within the larger Advancement Marketing and Communications structure.

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

    Digital Engagement Email Communications

    + Using our eComm tools, including Salesforce and Marketing Cloud, plan, build and send advancement emails to internal and external audiences.

    + Build audience segments for advancement division to support all email marketing and communications sends.

    + Evaluate email marketing data, understand its relevance and be able to effectively communicate findings and highlights.

    + Provide strategic ideas and implement improvements to email design, templates, and responsiveness across devices, with consideration for user experience and layout standard methodologies.

    + Work with the digital engagement team to identify current communications trends and new tactics to improve effectiveness of email campaigns.

    + Under the supervision of Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, provide project management support to for all email marketing efforts and campaigns.

    + Support the Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist in large-scale email campaigns, from segmentation to reporting.

    + Understand FERPA, HIPAA, CAN-SPAM, digital accessibility, and other relevant federal and state legislation and university policies. Confident in applying and enforcing these guidelines in daily work and with program users.

    eComm Program Support

    + Develop current and detailed understanding of all aspects of the eComm program, including applications, users, business requirements, programmatic goals and objectives, and the role that eComm plays in the broader CU Boulder enterprise strategy.

    + Serve as an eComm Specialist within the advancement division, providing support for the eComm tools of our assigned users.

    + Provide database management and support of CRM, Salesforce.

    + Support development and cultivation of audience segmentation and list building.

    + Provide tactical and operational expertise to eComm users, division and campus partners.

    + Under the direction of Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, provision user licenses and support.

    + Under supervision Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, develop training resources.

    + Under supervision of Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, manage Cvent for the division and approve registration pages.

    + Participate in divisional program meetings to support the broader CU Boulder eComm division and governance.

    + Attend system-wide eComm program meetings, emergency sessions, trainings, etc.

    + Stay current with digital marketing suite of tools used by CU Boulder.

    Data Analysis

    + Evaluate email performance metrics to identify patterns and share observations that may advise future improvements.

    + Support audience segmentation efforts by helping to pull lists and compare general engagement trends across different audience groups or campaign types.

    + Assist in compiling campaign highlights into simple summaries or dashboards for colleagues and collaborators, with guidance on how to interpret results.

    + Track engagement activity to help understand what resonates with audiences.

    + In collaboration with the Senior Marketing Operations and User Experience Strategist, contribute to the development of data tracking and reporting practices to help maintain consistency in how metrics are collected and presented.

    Project Management & General Marketing Support

    + Support integrated marketing and communications campaigns to support division-wide goals.

    + Attend and actively participate in advancement marketing and communications project meetings and team activities.

    + Serve as a project manager for various projects and initiatives as needed.

    + Content writing and editing as needed.

    + Provide web support as needed.

     

    What You Should Know

     

    This is a hybrid position, working a mix of days on campus and remote.

     

    What We Can Offer

     

    $60,000- $70,000. Relocation assistance is available within Advancement guidelines.

    What We Require

    + Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    + 2+ years of professional, job-related experience.

    + Software Used: Microsoft Office products, database software (Salesforce), Zoom, Teams, LinkedIn, Qualtrics, Litmus, Adobe creative suite, Asana, Drupal, and other project and content management software.

    What You Will Need

    + Familiarity with and understanding of email platforms such as Marketing Cloud or similar tools.

    + Familiarity with Salesforce or similar CRM platform, including segmentation strategies and report logic.

    + Familiarity supporting and developing email marketing campaign and programs.

    + Familiarity with digital marketing practices.

    + Familiarity with AP Style.

    + Strong critical thinking ability.

    + Ability to analyze data and synthesize findings.

    + Excellent communication skills and a proven track record to work on a team.

    + Demonstrated ability to eectively handle multiple projects in a fast-moving work environment.

    + High attention to detail and a strong dedication to accuracy.

    + Positive demeanor with excellent customer service skills.
