    The CU Boulder Department of Public Safety is accepting applications for a **Senior Project Manager** ! This position will report to the Director of Strategic Initiatives within the Division of Public Safety and will provide comprehensive project and program management across all departments within the Division of Public Safety. This includes the University of Colorado-Boulder Police Department, Events and Emergency Management, Flight Operations, Security Services, Operations, and Threat Assessment, as well as Division-wide and campus-wide initiatives that impact public safety operations.

    What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

    Project and Program Management

    + Manage multiple concurrent projects, often as part of larger programs, through all phases of the project lifecycle: initiation, planning, execution, and closure.This includes managing scope, timelines, and budgets to ensure project success.

    + Develop and implement project plans, timelines, and achievements, ensuring alignment with strategic goals and objectives.

    + Lead cross-functional teams, ensuring task completion, accountability, and collaboration.

    + Identify and manage project risks, issues, and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.

    + Ensure clear and consistent communication with project sponsors, campus partners, and leadership.

    Partner Engagement and Communication

    + Strong collaboration across multiple departments, project sponsors, leaders, and campus partners to gather and document project requirements.

    + Develop and implement communication plans to keep campus partners informed throughout project lifecycles to ensure objectives are understood and achieved.

    + Facilitate project meetings, track action items, and provide updates to executive leadership on project achievements and accomplishments.

    + Build positive relationships within the Division of Public Safety and across campus

    Vendor and Resource Management

    + Manage vendor relationships, ensuring delivery of contracted services and alignment with project requirements.

    + Collaborate with internal teams to allocate resources effectively, ensuring appropriate staffing to meet project timelines and objectives.

    + Identify organizational change needs and develop strategies to address them.

    Grants Management

    + Manage grant-related activities, including writing proposals and grant applications, completing periodic reporting, and ensuring compliance with grant requirements.

    + Manage the budget and spending of grant-funded projects.

    Professional Development and Continuous Improvement

    + Engage in ongoing learning and development related to leadership, project management methodologies, and emerging industry trends.

    + Contribute to enhancing project management standard methodologies, processes, and tools within the Division of Public Safety.

     

    What You Should Know

     

    Standard business hours, Monday - Friday. This position may be eligible for a hybrid modality.

     

    What We Can Offer

     

    The salary range for this position is $105,000 - $115,000 annually.

    What We Require

    + Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration, Information Technology, Public Safety, or Public Administration or related fields. A combination of education and proven experience as described below may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.

    At least five years of direct project management experience that includes a combination of the following:

    + Managing complex technology and records management implementation projects

    + Managing multiple concurrent projects

    + Collaborating with campus partners across multiple divisions

    + Staffing and managing project resources in a weak matrix organization

    + Risk Management and Issues Resolution

    + Client and vendor management

    What You Will Need

    + Excellent written and oral communication skills.

    + Knowledge and expertise in the application of waterfall project management methodologies.

    + Familiarity with a variety of software development lifecycles used for IT projects including Agile development (scrum, kanban, etc.).

    + Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive data in compliance with FERPA, HIPAA, and CJIS.

    + Strong interpersonal skills and uphold high levels of discretion and integrity.

    + Organized and detail oriented.
