    Job Summary:

    Key Responsibilities:

    + Assist with and oversee the day-to-day operations of clinical trials and studies

    + Assist with administrative management of research studies (e.g. IRB, OnCore)

    + Obtain study subject's medical history and current medication information, reviews research protocol inclusion/exclusion criteria, and confirms eligibility of subject to participate in clinical trial

    + Perform informed consent process or ensures that the informed consent process has occurred, is properly documented, and that informed consent form documents are filed as required

    + Schedule subject participation in research clinical trial, coordinating availability of necessary space, and clinical research support (e.g., physician, nurse practitioner, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy)

    + Collect, code, and analyze data obtained from research in an accurate and timely manner

    + Adhere to research regulatory standards

    + Maintain detailed records of studies to ensure compliance with requirements of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), study protocols, department, hospital/clinical standard operating procedures and other regulatory guidelines

    + Participate in subject recruitment efforts, including communicating with patients expressing an interest and all pre-screening/screening activities

    + Ensure that the necessary supplies and equipment for studies are in stock and in working order

    + Assist with training BfitBwell Program staff in research protocols

    Qualifications:

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in any field

    + A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree on a year for year basis

    + One (1) year clinical research or related experience

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Bachelor's degree in science or health related field

    + Two (2) years of clinical research or related experience

    + Experience with electronic data capture systems (e.g. EMR or EHR and data management systems)

    + A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Physiology or a related field

    + Strong skills and knowledge of various Microsoft Windows applications

    + CPR/AED/ BLS certified

    + Experience in COMIRB standards and regulations

    + Previous data entry experience for research studies

    + Advanced exercise certification or clinical experience in exercise oncology

    + Prior experience as a Professional Research Assistant and specific experience with human subject research and regulations

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    + Knowledge and understanding of federal regulations and Good Clinical Practice (GCP)

    + Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally

    + Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution

    + Outstanding customer service skills

    + Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology

    + Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information

    + Ability to collaborate with a variety of investigators and individuals on our research teams

    + Ability to work flexible hours including outside of normal work hours in the mornings and evenings.

    + Must have outstanding organizational and time management skills, ability to work independently, basic knowledge of data entry and management.

    Clinical Science Study Coordinator - 36859 University Staff

    This is a unique opportunity to help survivors of cancer improve their health through exercise and contribute to the world of science!We are searching for a Clinical Science Study Coordinator for an NCI funded investigation of a telehealth exercise program for rural survivors of cancer. This study utilizes novel assessments to remotely investigates the physiologic mechanisms of exercise, including telehealth assessments of physical function and the remote collection of dried blood spots to assess metabolic function. This position will be a part of the larger BfitBwell Cancer Exercise Program, which provides the telehealth exercise intervention. The BfitBwell Program provides clinically supervised exercise programs to individuals living with and beyond cancer while also performing research studies in the field of exercise oncology.Duties include, but are not limited to, assisting with associated administrative tasks (protocol submission and management); participant recruitment, screening, scheduling, and assessments; collection and processing of outcome measures and study samples (dried and liquid blood); and data entry. The Clinical Science Study Coordinator may assist BfitBwell Cancer Exercise Specialists with exercise session or program delivery. This position will also assist with similar tasks in other BfitBwell associated research studies and assist with clinical operations of the BfitBwell Program, as appropriate.

     

    Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

     

    The BfitBwell Cancer Exercise Program is a nationally known program, delivering a high-quality clinical exercise service to survivors of cancer and conducting NIH-funded research studies of exercise as an intervention for this clinical population. Team members also have the opportunity to work on NIH-funded research investigations and become involved in the research process beyond intervention delivery. Clinical team members have the unique opportunity to provide personalized exercise to this patient population, with significant 1-1 time with patients.The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center resides within the School of Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. The CU Anschutz Health and Wellness Center (CU AHWC) is an interdisciplinary center whose overarching goals are to have an impact on the campus while building towards sustainability.
