We have an exciting opportunity for a **Micrometeoroid & Orbital Debris Impact Risk Engineer** to join the team with Aerodyne Industries, a teammate company.
The **Micrometeoroid & Orbital Debris Impact Risk Engineer** will:
+ Perform risk assessment of MMOD impacts on spacecraft components
+ Develop computer simulation models of hypervelocity impacts on spacecraft materials
+ Support the development of in-house computer-based software tools to perform MMOD impact risk analysis of spacecraft
+ Support hypervelocity impact test programs for spacecraft materials
+ Work with internal and external customers to define tasking parameters and schedules
+ Present work products to customers and counterparts (written & verbal)
+ Support and participate in technical interchange meetings
+ Support other activities in the HVIT Group as needed
Requisition Qualifications:

+ Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a minimum of 2-5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
+ Experience with MMOD environments and spacecraft risk assessment
+ Effective problem-solving capabilities
+ Excellent communication and presentation skills
+ Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a team environment
+ Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and ability to generate technical reports and presentations
Requisition Preferences:
+ Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited school and a minimum of five (5) years direct experience
+ Experience modeling computer simulations of hypervelocity impacts
+ Experience with FORTRAN computer programming language

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines
Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
