Summary/General Description Of Job:

The incumbent is responsible for swimming pool servicing to include water quality testing and completion of water analysis reports. The Laborer duties include general grounds maintenance and upkeep of all areas including the exterior of buildings and roadways.

Essential Duties & Job Functions:

• Conduct chlorine and pH analyses of swimming pools and spas.

• Add chemicals if required to bring swimming pools and spa water into specifications.

• Complete the Swimming Pool Water Chemical Level Monitoring Chart and maintain a chemical treatment log on site.

• Performs backwashing of filters, cleaning strainer baskets and the pulsar hoppers as instructed.

• Performs tasks which require mainly physical abilities and effort involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.

• The following tasks are typical of this occupation: loads and unloads trucks and other conveyances; moves supplies and materials to proper location by wheelbarrows or hand trucks; stacks materials for storage or binning; collects refuse and salvageable materials.

• Digs, fills, and tamps earth excavations; levels ground using pick, shovel, tamper and rake; shovels concrete and snow; cleans culverts and ditches; cuts trees and brush; operates power lawnmowers; gutter/roof cleaning; carpet/vinyl flooring removal.

• May be assigned as flagger or firewatch, if trained and certified.

• Moves and arranges heavy pieces of material, furniture, equipment, and appliances. Spreads sand and deicer on icy roads and walkways; picks up leaves and trash.

• Duties may include grounds maintenance laborer tasks. May be assigned to assist in the spill response team May be required to obtain and maintain asbestos certification for the purpose of removing asbestos.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to the accomplishment of the work assignment. Significant work in another job classification may be required if accompanied by any wage adjustments applicable.

• The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in the swimming pool and spa testing and reporting,

• The proper use of tools and equipment commonly used in landscaping and laborer fields.

• Maintaining up to date training and/or certifications.

• Completing all mandated training requirements per government and management directives.

• Timely and cost effective performance of duties.

• Timely completion and accuracy of all departmental work.

• Dealing with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations.

• Adherence to established company safety policies and good industrial and office safety practices.

• Compliance with company Standard Operating Procedures and Personnel policies and procedures.

• Having the ability to work well under pressure.

Job Requirements (Education, Experience, Professional Associations):

Mandatory

• Must complete Government provided Certified Pool Operator/Aquatic Facility Operator (CPO/AFO) training for water testing of swimming pools and spas prior to assignment.

• Must obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.

• Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required. Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.

• Valid state driver’s license with acceptable driving record

• Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.

• U.S. Citizenship.

Preferred

• Prior experience in swimming pool and spa water testing and reporting.

Wages: $26.02/hour (Union position)
