Job Description:
The Evaluation Engineer (Security Engineer II) will be a functional member of the bank’s Product Transformation and Management team within Global Information Services (GIS). This position plays a critical role in supporting enterprise security engineering initiatives by driving and coordinating product evaluation efforts across various cybersecurity domains. This role is responsible for evaluating vendor technologies, designing, and executing test plans, and delivering actionable insights that enable data-driven product decision.
The successful candidate will:
+ Conduct thorough market scans to identify emerging technology trends and products that align with stakeholder’s strategic goals and requirements.
+ Design and execute proof of concept (POC) projects to assess the viability, performance, and potential impact of new technologies.
+ Drives complex technical information security evaluations to ensure on-time delivery.
+ Identifies and raises risks and potential vulnerabilities at all stages of the POC process.
+ Leverages knowledge of information security technologies, techniques, and processes while continuing to grow knowledge within one or more information security domains.
+ Identifies, defines, and documents system security requirements.
+ Works closely with a diverse set of stakeholders with varying priorities to debate and negotiate paths forward.
+ Prepare detailed evaluation reports and presentations to share findings and recommendations with stakeholders and senior management.
Required Qualifications
+ 5+ years of experience within an information security technology, Cyber, operational, engineering or consulting team with good knowledge of the security controls and processes required within systems and networks.
+ Strong interpersonal skills to be able to communicate, influence and negotiate with senior stakeholders to obtain or leverage necessary resources.
+ Foundation in cybersecurity principles, with the ability to assess vendor solutions for compliance, threat exposure and control effectiveness.
+ Sharp analytical skills and a methodical approach to problem solving, enabling data-driven decision making in high stakes environment.
Desired Qualifications
+ Excellent oral and written briefing skills with experience crafting evaluation reports, risk summaries, and executive ready documentation.
+ Good communicator able to deliver difficult messages and resolve issues with stakeholders.
+ Ability to initiate own work priorities and manage a portfolio independently.
+ Ability to identify, articulate and recommend mitigation measures for risks associated with vendor technologies, including operational, technical, regulatory, and reputational dimensions.
+ Evaluate and architect technology solutions that align with enterprise needs, scalability requirements and integration needs.
